I'm an A2Hosting customer for almost a year now.
As a technical consultant myself I'm really nitpicky about IT services.
A2Hosting is the best I've came across so far based on tons of testings and deployments around (I've benched up to 10 providers before)
What seduce(s)|de me:
• Clear and simple pricing
• Limited but more performant offers
• CPanel-powered features
• Advanced functions
• Billing made easy
• Tons of services and features if you need
The support is rock solid and very available, I had one major DNS incident related to a subdomain, the team has been able to resolve.
I also love their SSD-powered servers, their integration with CloudFlare and the advanced DNS features you can play with.
Finally, they have excellent uptime and latencies worldwide.
If I had some cons:
• Sometimes the support just doesn't treat the tickets, and no news, but it's very rare (less than 5% of my tickets)
• No PHP caching on shared servers (opcache, etc...)

I've used A2 hosting for a few years and have nothing but great things to say. I'm not a developer, just a business person. I host a few sites of my own through them, and continue to send other people their way. Their support is wonderful. Real people help in real time help kindly with issues big and small. I registered many domains with Go Daddy, and host one site there, but I prefer A2. Go Daddy is such a monster, and you always feel like their goal is to get your money, not give you service. A2 provides better, faster, more reliable (in my non-techie opinion) hosting services plus chat and phone support. Go Daddy has no chat support, which is a real drag. I recommend A2 without reservation.

If you what SPEED as first priority, second is price then your selections is A2hosting.
In this case I will write about some than is VERY important and is not showed in publicity or described by others in reviews... I'm talking about limiting the number of files and folder (inode limit in linux), were if you have several sites and plan to put all sites in same shared web hosting you need to evaluate this.
arvixe have no inode limits !!! wow, that sounds good...
A2hosting with ssd have an inode limit of 300,000.
godaddy have changed their policy a year ago, limiting it to 500,000.
bluehost have inode limit 50,000 per cPanel or 200,000 as max.
hostgator have a inode limit of 100,000 to 250,000.
dreamhost is very misleading because there is no place showed the inode limit, but they have quota!
Hostmoster is exactly the same quota as bluehost, inode limit 50,000 to max 200,000
Webhostinghub have a inode limit of 75,000 !!! damn very low.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND using A2Hosting for your first site.
